Ukizukuri is a finish that emphasizes the grain of the wood. It is a process in which a special brush is used to cut away the softer "Natsume" grain and leave the harder "Fuyume" grain. Uzukuri wood has a good feel and appearance, and is used in Japanese homes (e.g., flooring) and furniture.
